When doing the Hotswap Challenge, it is easier if you move towards the marker to make more “Hotswaps” available. By doing this, you will not lose 1,000 points.
Unlimited Ammo:
If you want the option to have unlimited ammunition for your weapons, you must first beat each mission on Hard Mode, finishing each with an S-Ranking.

Beginnings (II) – Pass “Beginnings (I)” with at least an A rank
Dark Legacy (I) – Pass “Fall of Umbrella 3″

Unlockable: Luigi
Heres how to get Luigi. First, get all 120 Stars in the game. Then, return to Rosalina (on the Comet Observatory) and request to fight Bowser one last time. Defeat him and let the credits roll. Thereafter, a message will appear telling you Luigi is a playable character.
Unlockable: 121st Star
Theres actually 121 Stars in the game, not 120. To get it, you must first have all 120 Stars. This unlocks Luigi. Beat the entire game with Luigi, defeating Bowser at the end. After this, a new galaxy will be unlocked. Finish this final galaxy to get the 121st Star.
Unlockable: Death Count
The Grand Finale Galaxy, which is the secret galaxy that can be unlocked after 120 Stars are gathered with both Mario and Luigi, holds another secret. Once the final Star is acquired with both characters in this galaxy, you will be able to see your death count on your save file. This will allow you to see how many times you died while playing the game with both Mario and Luigi.
Hint: Extra Lives
Because you start each game with only four lives (after shutting the game off and turning it back on), you might be in need of some extra lives upon rebooting the game. You can usually get five right off the bat from Toad (hell run around with a letter above his head, symbolizing a letter from either Luigi, or more likely Peach). There are four more strewn around the Observatory that you can acquire, however:
Hint: Second Player
If you have a second Wii controller, you can have a friend play along with you. While there wont be a second player on-screen, you will have a second cursor to use. This means that Coins, Star Bits, and the like can be collected by the second player. Theres also some functionality in controlling Marios jumps.
Unlockable: Minigames
Balloon Trip – You must finish Dr Crygor’s workout stage.
Block Star – You must finish Young Cricket’s Microgames.
Can Shooter – You must finish Ashley’s Microgames.
Pyoro S – Play all of the microgame from every character.
Tortoise & Hare – You must finish Orbulon’s Microgames.
Tower Tennis – You must finish Kat & Ana’s Microgames.
Multiplayer Modes:
Unlock Multiplayer mode by beating Tiny Wario’s stage in Single Player, then go to the Main Menu and select Multi.
Survival – Unlock Multiplayer (Beat Tiny Wario’s Stage).
Bomb – Play a game of Survival.
Lifeline – Play a game of Bomb.
Balloon – Play a game of Lifeline.
Darts – Unlock Multiplayer (Beat Tiny Wario’s Stage).
Star Nose – Play a game of Darts.
Bungee Buddies – Play a game of Star Nose.
Elephant Buildings:
The buildings are unlocked in a chain after finishing the story mode.
Thrilling (no Form cards) – Get 10 or more points on the Sudden Death Building.
Sudden Death Building (one life) – Get 20 or more points on the Super Hard Building.
Super Hard Building (very fast) – get 30 or more points on the Mixed Up Building.
All Mixed Up Building (random microgames) – Beat the last stage (Tiny Wario).
Unlockable gameplay modes:
Multiplayer Mode – Complete the Single-player game.
Sound Studio – Complete at least 20 games in succession on Trilling mode.
Temple Of Form – Play at least one Microgame.
Movie Theatre mode – Play Wario’s stage.
Unlockable: Balloon Tripf
You must finish the Dr. Crygor’s workout stage.
Hidden Toy:
Complete all the multiplayer mini-games and unlock a hidden toy.
Unlock Episode 6
Complete all operations in episodes 1-5 and Z to unlock episode 6.
Unlock X Missions for Both Doctors
Once unlocked, the first X mission will be available to both doctors. If you complete an X mission with one doctor, the next mission will be available to both doctors.
